Place of Hope North Georgia - Rabun County

Place of Hope North Georgia is a faith-based, nonprofit organization based in Clayton, Georgia, dedicated to bringing hope, healing, and community to vulnerable children and families involved in the foster care system of Rabun County and Northeast Georgia. Founded on the belief that every child deserves a safe and loving environment, the organization exists to glorify God by filling the critical gaps that exist within the foster care community.

Place of Hope North Georgia provides several vital services to support children and families navigating one of the most difficult seasons of their lives. The organization offers transitional foster care — a safe, staffed home environment for children who have been removed from their birth families while a permanent foster placement is being arranged, a process that can take anywhere from one to three days but is crucial for a child’s stability and wellbeing. The organization also provides respite care for foster parents, giving them the opportunity to rest and recharge through short-term relief care, so they can continue the important and demanding work of fostering. Additionally, Place of Hope facilitates court-ordered family visitations in partnership with the Family Resource Center of Northeast Georgia, helping to encourage family reconciliation and maintain parent-child bonds during the reunification process.

A community supply closet, stocked with essential items for foster children and DFCS caseworkers, rounds out the organization’s hands-on support services. As the organization continues to grow, it plans to expand its reach and become a major resource hub for the entire Northeast Georgia foster care system.

Place of Hope North Georgia is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and welcomes community support through donations, volunteering, and partnerships. For more information or to get involved, visit placeofhopenga.com or call 706-982-1343.
